I want you to listen to Lizz King, Human Host, Jean Louise (Chrissy Howland's band) and Thank You, and then I want you to drive around town listening to their recordings, if they have any. Watch the birds overhead. In your mind, then and there, start writing your own songs. When you go to the music store, buy modern instruments like computers and drum machines. Then join me to write rap songs. Listen to some world music (whatever that is). Then go out and date someone so that you can have love's inspiration. Come back home and write a song without a guitar. Make it noisy. Travel to Philly. Meet up with some art students. Where might that experience take you? Into theater perhaps? Some performance definitely. Or seeing wonderful things created by each of them. Arts students open the world and you do too. Be an art student in your own right and complete your very own artist's book or make a great record. Have fun, definitely have fun while doing whatever you choose to do.
