Circus of the Glass Harmonica
Somehow, this whole niche musical exploration is not frivolous. The development of the shrill language of the glass harmonica and the talents of its performers are breathtaking. I do prefer to see the glasses sprawled out on top of a precarious table and played like the scale of a xylophone or bars of a marimba. The resultant laughter, suspense, suspicion and awe of those watching this feat rise high above those of an audience seeing someone merely daub wet, scientific fingers along the simplified spinning bowls of Franklin's armonica.
