i need pumpkin
i need pumpkin
the day is already a dead one
like rats
having their way with a porcupine carcass
not sure that would even happen
but we walk into the moonlight and start to pray
what were we playing and why
twin people sliding down the hill
laughing
the old man in the daily mail story going to jail
the personal
day already “pumpkined” or something
over is the walk into the sun
the scrolling down
through the mountains
a dictator shot with his head against the ground
rats reading every random listicle
imagine they are saving something
we find insufficient niblets in the news
and so run the maze of comments
bumping noses on the glass
anonymous alien scientists laugh
old gods take their baths
what rotten pumpkin
flies having business in the world
and bright days ahead
tasted on the tongue and gutted from the stomach
tantalize like pie smells of baking
like kids carving a pumpkin
and ditching slimy seeds
